403 Helicopter Operational Training Squadron

Stalk and Strike Significance: The wolf is a fierce and powerful antagonist, indigenous to most parts of Canada.

403 Helicopter Operational Training Squadron (HOTS) is located at Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Gagetown.

The unit provides operational aircrew training to the crews who will fly the CH-146 Griffon helicopter.

It also supports the Army’s Combat Training Centre, and deploys personnel in conjunction with other units on operations around the world.

Pilots and Flight Engineers will spend three months at Gagetown learning to operate the Griffon before being posted to one of 1 Wing's operational squadrons.While at Gagetown, pilots and flight engineers will learn advanced tactical aircraft handling, including low-level formation flying, both during the day and at night.
